Dear Visitor!
The vistors of this page can participate in a time travel back to a period which is defined by a car brand ZHIGULI.
Zhiguli, using the name of a hill next to the river Volga has been a definitive car brand. The factory was still in construction but the first batch of cars already leaving the factory, TU-154 aircrafts are scraping the skies, for which the simulator were controlled by a large room of electric equipment and wires, a computer of the day. At heights almost invisible to the human eye for the first time in history before Concord a supersonic commercial airliner a TU-144 draws a vapour line. At the time of launch of the fourth model, VAZ-2106 we hear many thousands of pens as they are drawing blueprints for the space shuttle Buran to concur the universe. Since then technology is developing at speeds never seen before, unimaginable designs are are made by computers smaller then a hand and entire professions like the one of hand made technical designers are extinct.
We would like to create a memorial for the product of this exciting period the Zhiguli cars. In order to archive this we shall publish the less and less remaining specimens, which are standing covered in winters waiting for the fresh breath of spring and kept at garages even in times of mild summer rains. Their presentation is also important for those whom are obsessed with the brand, and it is a kind of recognition to their work, and it could be important to those who had a connection to a Lada or Zhiguli or even were lucky to own one.
So for all those who own a specimen of one (or being lucky and own more) of the classic models (2101, 2102, 2103, 2106) or a well preserved 2104, 2105, 2107 we are offering the possibility to present their cars. To archive this please contact us at veteranzsiguli@veteranzsiguli.hu.
Besides of presenting the cars we would like to enable contact among old timer Zhiguli enthusiasts. We think it is a good opportunity for exchanging information, experiences and in limited number we are able to provide name@veteranzsiguli.hu email addresses for those joining to our site.
We would also provide curiosities for our visitors, who does not actually own a car from the period, but used to own one and feeling nostalgic about it or those whom are interested in information about their parents or grandparents times. At the “Curiosities” page we collected newspapers, commercials and propaganda movies from the '60, '70, and '80.
We are also expecting any additional information, ideas, opinions to improve our site to archive our goal for we created veteranzsiguli.hu
So let us visit our parents and grandparents saved and cared Zhigulis which were more family members, then mere vehicles and still it is remembered as a symbol of the good old times with tears in the eyes.
